Inside the GiPA LATAM Aftermarket Symposium

Latin America’s automotive aftermarket is evolving at a pace no one can afford to ignore. New vehicle profiles, shifting consumer behaviour, the rise of Chinese-origin brands, electrification, inflationary pressures, challenging mobility dynamics.

On November 27th, more than 130 aftermarket professionals came together, representing manufacturers, distributors, associations, retailers, workshops, tech companies, and mobility innovators. Their engagement turned the day into a truly collaborative experience.

The symposium was GiPA’s answer to a big question many players quietly ask themselves:
Where is this market really going, and how do we prepare for it?

GiPA’s key voices from Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico came together under one roof to share insights, confront challenges, and identify what the next decade will look like. Together with the team, key aftermarket stakeholders joined the conversation throughout two round tables were led by exceptionally high-profile speakers, whose strategic vision and on-the-ground experience elevated the discussions and brought clarity to some of the region’s toughest questions.

From the global insights of Almudena Benedito Garcia GiPA Group CEO, to a detailed look at the evolution of LATAM markets with Brazil’s perspective shared by Laurent GUERINAUD, GiPA Brazil Country Director, and Argentina and Mexico’s outlook presented by Florencia Delucchi, GiPA Argentina Country Director, the sessions offered a forward-thinking and data-driven view of where the market is heading.

The symposium was enriched by the presence of key aftermarket players, joining us on stage and sharing their knowledge, experience, and perspectives.

From the first sessions on the global aftermarket scenario, the conversations shifted the atmosphere:

• The deep dive into the car parc evolution exposed the true shape of the region’s fleets and the substantial market changes ahead.
• The analysis of EV and hybrid penetration challenged long-held assumptions about how quickly electrification will reshape LATAM.
• The exploration of Mexico’s car chocolate market opened a window into one of the most unique and complex aftermarket ecosystems in the world.
• Discussions on distribution models and sustainability pressures unified the room around a shared reality: the aftermarket is entering a phase that demands reinvention, investment, and collaboration.

And if the plenary hall was the heart of the symposium, then the conversations in the corridors, at the coffee breaks, and later during the cocktail were the real space where ideas met strategy, and strategy met opportunity.

The symposium was also the occasion for GiPA Brazil to celebrate its 25 years anniversary, honoring a quarter-century of market intelligence, partnership, and growth with a loyal community of client, partners and industry players.

If this symposium showed us anything, it’s that the aftermarket in Latin America is ready for its next chapter and it will be written together, with data, collaboration, and vision. GiPA remains committed to supporting this transformation, offering the insights, tools, and foresight the industry needs to make confident decisions in an increasingly complex environment.
